Yes folks, I’m heading to the bright lights and big city of Melbourne in October. As much as I have come to love New Zealand, Christchurch is just too small for me especially post-earthquakes. I long for the hustle and bustle of big city life again and all the vibrance and excitement that goes along with it.
I’ll be sad to leave behind some amazing friends and family but am looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life and seeing where that takes me. I can’t wait to start exploring my new city and finding out what makes it buzz. It’ll be no huge shock to the system though as I lived in Melbourne when I was 19 and have visited a few times since then. It’s always a city that I have loved and wanted to live in again one day.
I have 3 weeks left in Christchurch and so much to sort out so things may be a little quiet on here till I move. I will try and put up some posts on the move and packing for it though.
If any of you out there are in Melbourne or have been and know it well, let me know what the must try things are for when I arrive. Would love to find out about some of the more ‘local’ things to do. Excited to start discovering my new home.

November 7, 2012 at 11:21 amIt so is. I love Fitzroy/Brunswick area too. So many great bars and fantastic live music too. Oh and the AMAZING shops down Brunswick Street too – have been staying on the tram until I get a full time job! Then I will quite probably go broke within about 2 mins! lol
