High tea at Lincoln Tea House

My friends and I discovered a place to have high teas this weekend in Lincoln, which is about 20-30 minutes from Christchurch. The Tea House is in an old restored villa and not only serves delicious high teas but other delicious looking lunches and dinners too. We went for the high teas though and they have various selections including the all singing and dancing Royal High Tea, the Tea House Sandwich Selection and also a Tasting Plate that includes a few sweet and savoury treats.

I went for the tasting platter which was delicious. I’d wish I’d gone for the larger one though as the portions of everything were definitely only tastes. They were all very nice though – although I did give away my rum ball as it was just too strong for me. Everything was served on beautiful old china though. From the tea cups to the serving platters they were all beautifully decorated in lots of different designs.

It seems like a very popular place and so I would definitely advise booking in advance especially on the weekends. This meant that the services wasn’t exactly speedy and it took a while to even get our drinks served but we weren’t in any particular rush so this didn’t matter too much. The staff also weren’t very friendly so might be something they need to work on.

The Tea House in Lincoln is open every day – 9.30 – 4.30 Sunday to Wednesday and 9.30 – 11pm Thursday to Saturday.
