Why do I want to be part of this exchange?

Well for as long as I can remember I’ve loved to travel. The thrill of heading off into the great wide unknown. To visit new places, immerse myself in different cultures and meet fascinating people from around the world. My main bucket list item is to visit every country in the world before I die. Whether I manage to do that or not, I’m sure as hell going to have a good time trying to.

Travel has helped me to grow as a person. What better way to learn about the world then actually experiencing first hand, to visit a place and meet the people, rather than simply watching it on the news, or reading about it in a book. My memories are my most treasured possessions that even years after visiting somewhere can be brought back to life with a simple smell, sight or sound. I definitely have wanderlust – I feel alive when travelling. I love the thrill of anticipation that you feel when even arriving at an airport to head off to somewhere new, the buzz of excitement when you first step foot off the plane to begin a new adventure, and even the sadness at leaving somewhere that you have fallen in love with, but have had the greatest time experiencing.

So where would I love to head off too?

I can’t say I’d complain about being sent anywhere but there are definitely a few places that would be at the top of my list…………….

France…….. Paris, Eiffel Tower, French Men, Wine, Garlic Snails

Brazil…….. Carnival, colours, dance, street food, music

Italy…….. History, architecture, fashion, love and passion

The Caribbean…….. Sun, sea, sand and ……. rum cocktails

Ireland…….. Lush landscapes, Guniness, hearty food, and of course the accents

Latvia…….. My heritage, history, food that reminds me of my grandparents and of course vodka

Iceland…….. Lagoons, Ice Hotels, Northern Lights and Volcanoes

Greece…….. Ancient gods, Temples, Taramasalata and White Sand Beaches

Canada…….. Rocky Mountains, Waterfalls, Lakes, Great Train Rides and Ice Hockey

Morocco…….. Markets, Spices, Jewellery, Mosques, and Majorelle Blue

I would love more than anything to be a part of this exchange. To have the chance to share my experiences with you all and to be able to tell my grandchildren in years to come about the amazing time I had for 10 days swapping lives with another blogger in 2013.
